The HTM (Hospital Technical Memorandum) originated in 1972 and was published by the National Health Service (NHS), Department of Health in the UK. It was later revised and improved in 1997 and was renamed HTM2022. Then finally in 2006 the document was revised and improved and was renamed HTM02-01 Part ‘A’ and ‘B’.
The NHS guidelines mandate a technical document needs reviewing with a 10 year period. HTM02-01 is followed for all new and small works in the all 78 Common Wealth Countries and mandatory in UK, Middle East and Far East, SAARC and Indian Sub Continent.
In a changing word of healthcare standards and codes of practice are being updated and introduced every day. HTM02-01 has the latest standards and references of use within its pages and this is one of the reasons why HTM02-01 is a better standards then any other ?
